-Carol is enjoying retirement and loves playing music with her friends!-

Carol Phillips grew up in a rural area of Spotsylvania County, Virginia in a family that played old-time string music.  She began singing and playing the guitar in 1975 and began playing the autoharp in 1994.  Her main influence was Mother Maybelle Carter, one of The Original Carter Family, who recorded from 1927-1941 and she has played on stage with Mother Maybelle’s daughters, Helen and Anita.  Carol has also played with various groups in and around central Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
